Volunteer

Ministry Opportunities: You can make a difference in a young woman’s life.

We have ministry tasks for many different people with many different talents. If you have an interest in volunteering, please call us to discuss how you may serve here.

  • Peer Counselors – Meet one-on-one with young women who may be experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, administer pregnancy tests and provide accurate information related to the outcome of that test.
  • Mercy Project Instructors - Teach group classes offered to our clients. Classes are generally one to four weekly sessions, usually offered in the evening. Call for more details.
  • Men’s Ministry Peer Counselors – Meet one-on-one with young men who have accompanied a girlfriend for a pregnancy test.
  • Prayer Team – Requests to cover clients’ specific needs in prayer are e-mailed weekly.
  • Medical Volunteers – Nurses or ultrasound technicians who are qualified to provide ultrasounds for our clients.
  • Office Support - Project and clerical support (assembling folders, preparing newsletters for mailing, etc.)
  • Church / Community Liaison - Represent Care Net at your church – periodically set up information booths, promote Care Net events, and to be generally knowledgeable about the ministry.
  • Monthly Donors - Include Care Net in your monthly budget to cover operating costs.
  • Financial Underwriter – Provide finances to offset the up-front costs related to hosting a fundraising event so that all funds raised at those events goes directly to the ministry. This is also an opportunity to advertise your business.
  • Event Planning - Work alongside staff and other volunteers to coordinate CPCNWH events, such as the Walk for Life (March/April) and the Fall Fundraiser and Silent Auction (September).
  • Donation Management – Sort and process the many donations of baby clothing, diapers, and other baby items received for distribution through the pregnancy center.
  • Facilities Maintenance – Provide general maintenance for our facility, such as replacing light bulbs and air filters, repairing fluorescent light fixtures, etc.
  • Baby Crib Assembly – We receive donations of baby cribs that must be assembled and checked for completeness and safety before they can be provided to clients.
  • Office Cleaning & Maintenance – CPCNWH does not contract for any professional cleaning services. All cleaning is done by the staff and volunteers who come in for this purpose, especially on our monthly Saturday work days. This is a great opportunity for an on-going family service project.
  • Transportation Volunteer –We need volunteers who have a truck or van and can be called on to transport donated items that cannot be used at the center to a suitable donation site, usually Northwest Assistance Ministries located just across Highway 249 from the pregnancy center.

Saturday Work Days

You may also join us for our monthly Saturday work days (please call for upcoming dates) in which members of the community join us to help with whatever is needed that month.

Volunteer Training Schedules

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call Kim Zollo, Client Services Coordinator, and arrange for a tour. Once you’ve visited the center, you’ll see how your particular skills may be used in ministry.

Prior to going through the four-session training, volunteers are required to attend an Orientation Session that covers the Spiritual Foundations of the CPCNWH ministry. This 3-hour session is offered once a month, at different times and days of the week in an effort to accommodate a variety of schedules.

The upcoming 2008 Orientation Sessions are as follows:
  • May 6, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • June 8, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
  • August 5, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
  • August 28, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • October 9, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
  • November 13, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
We offer our full training sessions three times a year—in February, June, and October. In order to fill any volunteer position that requires client contact, trainees must complete the training by attending all four sessions of their selected training.

Volunteer Training dates for the remainder of 2008 are as follows:
  • June 16, 19, 24 and 26               6:30-9:30 p.m.
  • October 14, 16 , 20 and 23         6:30-9:30 p.m.
