Our Services
We believe that God has called us to educate women and men on all options surrounding an unexpected pregnancy.
We carry out this purpose initially by addressing their needs, providing:
- Pregnancy Testing
- Peer Counseling for Women
- Ultrasound Imaging
- Adoption Referrals
- Post Abortion Counseling
- Abstinence Education
- Classes related to:
- Pregnancy & Baby Care
- Life Skills
- Biblical Principles
These FREE services open the door to establish relationships and to share the gospel as we work with the Lord to meet spiritual & physical needs. As a result, we have seen many abortion-minded and abortion-vulnerable women decide to carry their child to term after receiving counseling and seeing an ultrasound image of their baby.
Life Enrichment Program
The Life Enrichment Program is the educational outreach component of the pregnancy center. Started in 1999, it has grown from one childbirth education class to over two dozen classes. Classes are divided into three main areas: pregnancy and baby care, life skills, and relationships. Topics include nutrition, newborn baby care, parenting, Bible studies, budgeting, car care, relationships & communication. Life Enrichment Program classes are taught by volunteers from the community.
In Life Enrichment classes, we seek to teach women specific skills needed to become better parents, to learn a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their babies, and gain valuable skills necessary for personal and spiritual growth.
The baby’s father is encouraged to attend classes, and both mother and father earn credits which can be redeemed in our Baby Boutique. Credits can be redeemed for baby items such as cribs, baby clothing, diapers, blankets, and other baby accessories and equipment.
Our most popular classes, not surprisingly, are those related to pregnancy and baby care - Breastfeeding, Eating for a Healthy Baby, Infant CPR and First Year Milestones. Also, very popular are three new classes being offered through community education partnerships - Safe Sleep, Home Safety, and Dad's Matter (Establishing Legal Paternity in the State of Texas).
Baby Steps to Prayer continues to be a favorite spiritual growth class. The most popular life skills classes include Interview Skills and Managing Change. In addition to these class offerings, we are delighted to again provide childbirth education starting summer 2012 -- Understanding Birth, a two-part class covering pregnancy, labor (including preparation exercises), birth, and newborn and postpartum care.
By attending classes, clients—both mother-to-be and baby’s fathers—earn credits that may be redeemed in the Baby Boutique for new items such as cribs, baby clothes, diapers and other baby-related items. We are always in need of new baby items for this purpose. We have other avenues for distributing gently used items, but we reserve our new items for those clients who attend the Life Enrichment classes.
Fathers play such a vital role in every aspect of their children's lives. Care Net is dedicated to inspiring men to become involved, committed, and responsible fathers. Fathers are warmly welcomed at the center and are provided with a Daddy Folder with information to help them prepare for fatherhood. They are invited to accompany their wife or girlfriend to view the ultrasound image of their baby.
Fathers are also encouraged to attend Life Enrichment classes, which doubles the number of credits the couple can receive and subsequently redeem for baby items in the Baby Boutique. Referrals to other organizations that may be able to meet other needs (such as Northwest Bible Church’s Between Jobs Ministry that assists with employment) are as available to fathers as they are to our female clients.
